Ready to be a big sister...

Today Abbie's new furniture was delivered! When we fist set up her new crib Abbie asked to get in and she played for a little bit... when she saw us move her old crib around the room and raise the mattress she became a little upset and asked to get out of her new crib and into her old one. Kevin and I were unsure of how tonight would go... She seems to love her new crib and is now sweetly sleeping in it without any complaints at bedtime. This past week we have been talking a lot about being a big sister. She seems to be understanding a little more about becoming a big sister. We will see how it all ends up.

We have pulled out the infant carseat and other baby toys of Abbie's and she has crawled right into them just like they were old friends that she had missed for a long time! It will be interesting to see how she reacts when baby is in them!!

It is very cold here and we have had snow everyday since Wednesday!!! We hope you all are staying warm during this chill!!!

A weighty success!!!

We have reached a huge milestone that has been long coming!!! Abbie has finally reached 20lbs; 20.14 to be exact!!! Yay! We plan to turn Abbie around in her carseat tomorrow.
Today was a good day... not only did we have a great visit to the doctors office; Abbie and I had a play date with a coworker, Cari, of mine and her three little girls. Eilee is 18 months old and Avery and Tatum are 4 months old... it was so nice to see Abbie play with Eilee; the girls played well together... Abbie did have some issues sharing, she stuffed her face full of grapes just so she did not have to give one grape to Eilee, but all in all it went really well. Abbie also seemed to love the babies; she tried to give them their pacifiers, patted their backs when they cried, and would lie on the floor with them and chatted face to face with them!
We only have four and a half weeks until the new baby comes and Kevin and I are very excited... if you ask Abbie if she is going to be a big sister she says no. But today gave me a glimmer of hope that Abbie is going to be a great big sister!

Merry Christmas!

We have had a wonderful Christmas season this year... We started our celebrating 2 weeks before Christmas with Breakfast with Santa at our church. It was so much fun a a great tradition that we would like to continue while we are here. Abbie sat on Santa's lap and was given a Candy-cane which is now here favorite treat! She also made reindeer food, a cookie, and jumped on a fun house (this made her very nervous... you can see Kevin pushing her in and then she quickly turned around and climbed back out!).

That Sunday we were invited to watch a Christmas play that our friend Gavyn was in at his church. He sang This Little Light of Mine and he did an awesome job... I think he was the loudest one there!!! We then were able to watch a beautiful play put on by the older children that were portraying the real importance of Christmas... the birth of Christ! This was a beautiful message that we truly enjoyed being a part of! Abbie really enjoyed the play... she watched intently during the speaking parts and would dance and clap when the chorus would sing!

Kevin's parents came to visit us to celebrate Christmas the weekend before Christmas. We had a wonderful time even though we were hit with 10 inches of snow the first day they were here. Kevin and his father shoveled our cars out and Mom Crabtree and I bundled Abbie up and took her outside to play in the snow. Abbie really enjoyed picking up the snow and throwing it on the ground that daddy has just cleared, until... she feel face first in the snow then she said all done and walked into the garage to go inside and warm up.

On Saturday morning we visited Santa at his workshop were in MI and Abbie was a trooper... the line was not terrible and she actually sat on his lap without any tears; I was kind of nervous that she would not want to go anywhere near him. We opened Christmas presents on Saturday evening and Abbie was not quite sure of what to do with them all... but she enjoyed playing with her baby boll "Abigail Rose" later that evening. Here are a few photos from the start of the season!

The next day we made a very traditional Christmas meal with Ham and all of the fixings... we enjoyed the company of Mom and Dad Crabtree and the Forcia family. All of the kids always get along so well that we were able to finally get some cute pictures of them playing together.

My parents arrived Tuesday evening and the celebrating continued... my mom and dad watched Abbie on Wednesday morning because Kevin and I both had to work. We went to Christmas Eve mass at 4 pm and Abbie was great; she does very well in church. After mass we went out for the Pearsall traditional Christmas Eve dinner... Chinese; it was yummy. We arrived home and put Abbie to bed. Christmas morning Abbie woke up at 7am and we had to go and wake up Nana and Papa because Santa came!!! Christmas morning Abbie was very into opening gifts but she needed a break in-between so that she could play with them all... it was fun to see her open all of her gifts and try to then open all of ours! Here are some pictures from Christmas morning.

Kevin and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on December 30th... my parents were still here so they watched Abbie while Kevin and I went out to dinner. It was so nice to be out on our own at a nice restaurant.

We hope and pray that everyone had a very blessed Christmas season!!! May the New Year bring you all happiness and joy!
